Bruce Timm inspired model i made...
On style...
One of the biggest questions I get from students is regarding how to create a certain style or aesthetic, rather than realistic style. Good, solid ability to create a style comes from a solid knowledge of the foundations. For example, if you have a firm grasp of anatomy in it's realistic form, then style will be easy to create as well as come off well.
Like this Bruce Timm style inspired model compared to the realistic foundations I made for my previous model. Your ability to create a realistic foundation has to be instilled solidly first, in order for stylistic explorations to continue successfully. My advice is to model your own characters always instead of using poser or similar software, the results might be the same but the experience and practice is worth it.
